Here you can learn more about the Central Artery Tunnel Project (The Big Dig). It is the most complex public works project in the history of the United States. The new underground highway will be completed in 2004. It will create 27 acres of open space when the existing roadway is taken down. Three quarters of this space will remain open, and some of it may be used for parks.
